By becoming a Friend you will be able to play an important part
in the life of the Gallery and help to secure its future.
Independent of the Gallery, and a registered charity, FoGAG has
become a vital contributor to Guildhall Art Gallery, raising funds
to help purchase some significant additions to the collection and
support specific projects.
Since our inception in 2002, the Friends are proud to have
contributed to the purchase of four major paintings:
- The Pool of London, by Samuel Scott;
- Smithfield Market, by John Paul;
- V2 Bomb Crater in Snow II 2004 (Epping Forest), by Julian
Perry; and
- Metropolitan Cattle Market, Copenhagen Fields, Islington, by
William Henry Davis.
in addition to providing funding for the William Powell Frith
exhibition.
Volunteers do all the administration for the Friends
organisation, which helps keep costs to a minimum, allowing more
money to be used to support the work of the Gallery.
