What happens to your rubbish

A diagram of what happens to your rubbish

  1. Rubbish is collected from all over the Square Mile by the City of London vehicles
  2. The City’s rubbish then goes through the transfer station at Walbrook Wharf. Here the rubbish is loaded on to barges
  3. The barges take the rubbish down the River Thames to Mucking landfill site in Essex
  4. The rubbish is then disposed to landfill
