Financial and Professional Services Week at Shanghai Expo
The City of London and the British Consulate General in Shanghai
have organised a financial and professional services week as part
of the UK's presence at Shanghai Expo 2010. The week of
events, which will also be attended by the Lord Mayor, will be
held from 8 to 18 September and will focus on promoting the UK
financial and professional services to China. Related events
will be held during the week in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Chengdu and
Beijing.

City Week – UK International Financial Services Forum
City Week has been organised by TheCityUK's Overseas Promotion
Committee, with the support of The City of London, International
Financial Services London and UK Trade and Investment. The
forum will take place from 20 to 22 September and will promote
the City of London and the UK financial services industry to both
existing and prospective clients around the world.
Key themes will include: the UK’s strategy of mutual cooperation
with other international financial centres; putting trust and
ethics at the heart of the financial services industry; and the
UK’s approach to raising levels of professionalism and competence
within its financial services clusters.

Chatham House Climate Change Conference 2010 - The way forward
in a post-Copenhagen world
The annual Chatham House Conference on Climate Change will ask
whether an international deal on climate change will be reached in
2010-2011, and if not, what alternative forms of governance will
emerge and what practical steps governments and business can take.
The conference will take place from 23 to 24
September.

Overseas Security Information for Business (OSIB) Event
The OSIB is sponsoring an event to be held on Wednesday 22
September which will focus on the risk and security issues
facing UK companies doing business in India. 'Managing the Security
Risks of Doing Business in India' will consist of an open Q&A
session followed by a networking lunch. Featuring a number of
speakers from across government and industry, the event will also
cover the effects of the recent Bribery Act (which comes into
force later this year) on Indian operations.

Business for New Europe (BNE) Seminar
BNE, together with the City of London, is holding a breakfast
seminar on 22 July entitled 'Credit Rating Agencies – heroes or
villains?' The seminar will discuss the role that credit rating
agencies should play in the global and European economic system in
light of the financial crisis and current government plans for
banking and financial services reform.
