Our economic research provides policy-makers with well-focused
analysis of the performance trends and needs of the London economy,
particularly the City-based financial and business services
clusters.
To support and promote the City, we work with domestic, EU and
international decision makers and businesses to secure the best
market, fiscal, regulatory and infrastructural environment in which
enterprise and innovation can flourish. We also provide support for
small and medium sized businesses coping with the economic
downturn.
Our City Property Advisory Team provides free and confidential
services to help organisations locate suitable premises in the
Square Mile and City fringes. And our Inward Investment team
provides assistance in establishing and growing City
businesses.
Other valuable resources include the City Business Library and
City Marketing Suite, which are both located within the Guildhall
Complex. The library couples expert staff with free access to
business information, while the suite offers a fully integrated
venue and information service for businesses wishing to encourage
others to take advantage of the opportunities afforded by the
Square Mile.
While the Square Mile is arguably the UK’s most prestigious and
dynamic area, it is surrounded by some of the most deprived
neighbourhoods in the country. As part of our Corporate
Responsibility programme, we work closely with public, private and
community sector bodies to ensure that the City and the City fringe
boroughs are inclusive and thriving places to be.
